Further to Circular 60/23, sub-Branches are reminded that the expression of interest period for the school-based ‘Draw to Remember’ pilot campaign will close on Monday 25 September 2023.

Seventeen sub-Branches have registered so far for this pilot campaign will create a meaningful connection between local veterans and primary school students, fostering an understanding of Remembrance Day and Australia’s military history through chalk art activities on footpaths, walls, and other surfaces within school grounds.

ANZAC House will work with all participating sub-Branches on media opportunities to showcase the part that the RSL plays in school-based learning about why we commemorate.

Campaign Highlights:

  • Participating sub-Branches will be fully briefed on the campaign and will be equipped with instructions and activity packs to work with two local primary school classes.
  • ANZAC House will provide participating sub-Branches with comprehensive resources, including student booklets, colored chalk, certificates of participation, teacher leaflets, and a digital pack of learning materials.
  • RSL NSW members will actively engage with local primary schools, supply learning materials, and participate in ‘show and tell’ sessions.

This campaign offers a unique chance to strengthen existing relationships with local schools while promoting hands-on, commemorative-based learning.
