Circular 51/23 Correspondence from Swiss8
ANZAC House is aware that RSL NSW sub-Branches and members have been contacted by Swiss8 CEO Adrian Sutter this week.
As you know, RSL NSW collaborates with ex-service organisations to provide holistic wellbeing support to our community. We will continue to welcome and collaborate with ESOs, including at RSL LifeCare Veteran Wellbeing Centres, and for the development of business cases for the establishment of Veterans’ and Families’ Hubs in the Hunter and Tweed regions.
You will also be aware that this contact from Swiss8 coincides with the implementation of the new SOP1, which collates all donations of charitable funds held by RSL sub-Branches via the Veteran Support Fund.
The Veteran Support Fund increases the visibility of RSL sub-Branches’ generous support for ESOs and veteran support initiatives.
It is an important step in ensuring that charitable funds held by sub-Branches are distributed with transparency where they can make the greatest difference to veterans and their families and that those organisations that receive charitable funds are accountable for delivering outcomes, agreed with RSL NSW.
Sub-Branch leaders are encouraged to work with ESOs to nominate organisations and initiatives for funding through the Veteran Support Fund. Explaining the VSF enables the District Presidents’ Council to determine from sub-Branches which ESO provides critical veteran support that the RSL or its service provider, RSL LifeCare Veteran Services, does not. Once included in the VSF, all sub-Branches can contribute to funding the initiative to support our charitable purpose.
Sub-Branch leaders and members are encouraged to remain courteous in their interactions with Swiss8 and continue to act with care for the wellbeing of our fellow veterans.
The RSL NSW CEO has been in touch with Adrian to invite him to meet with RSL NSW leadership, and to convey our intention to continue to work with Swiss8 and other ESOs.
