Infographic: My proudest moment

From landing a new job to buying a house, civilian life is full of rewarding opportunities. We asked veterans what they’re proudest of doing or achieving since leaving Defence.

Finding purpose in life post-transition might not happen straight away. After all, the rhythms and protocols of the military world don’t necessarily translate to civilian life, and some veterans find themselves wondering which path to take.

What makes this journey worthwhile are the moments of accomplishment, for things grand or small, that instil a sense of pride in oneself or in others. Some veterans settle down and start a family, some others pack a bag and set out to see the world.

Others find their passion in community outreach or volunteering. Others yet join RSL NSW and work to foster a rapport among sub-Branch members of the veteran community and their families.

We made a callout for veterans to share what they’re proudest of doing or achieving since leaving active service. Here’s what some of them had to say.
