Circular 6/24 Australian National Flag protocol
In accordance with Motion 6.4, that was carried by delegates at the 2023 Annual General Meeting, RSL NSW endorses the use of the Australian Flags booklet issued by the Australian Government as the correct protocol for the use of official flags by RSL NSW sub-Branches.
The most recent version of the booklet has been added to the sub-Branch Portal under General > Australian Flag Protocol, for easy reference. It provides information about the Australian National Flag and other flags prescribed under the Flags Act 1953, including the Australian Aboriginal Flag and Torres Strait Islander Flag, state and territory flags.
Sub-Branches should consult the Australian Flags booklet for guidance on the the appropriate use and flying of these flags.
A hard copy of the Australian Flags booklet can be obtained free of charge by contacting the electorate office of your local Senator or Member of the House of Representatives.
