Circular 6/23 Veterans’ Catalogue of Services now available

One of the key initiatives of the RSL NSW Strategic Plan is to provide a means by which veterans can contact their local sub-Branch. This was included because the consultation process during the development of the Plan revealed that sub-Branches were frustrated because younger veterans were not joining and transitioning service personnel didn’t know how to contact their sub-Branch, much less knew what the sub-Branch did.

The Delegates in attendance at the 2022 Congress were present for the launch of Strategic Plan Initiative 4.1 – the Veterans’ Catalogue. The web-based app, sponsored by RSL Australia, can be easily downloaded here.

Because the engagement of the Australian Defence Force was critical, RSL NSW took the proposal for a ’Catalogue of Services’ to RSL Australia to gain the support of other RSL State Branches. This was done, making it a truly important strategic project, and subsequently reduced the cost of the app’s development to NSW.

Please follow this link to an example of the reporting that can be produced from the catalogue, including seeing which services veterans are seeking and which sub-Branches are being searched for support.

This year, to enhance the capability, we will see the RSL-sponsored Veterans’ Catalogue introduced to transitioning personnel and for sub-Branches, the commencement of training for volunteer Wellbeing Support Officers who, along with other members, will be able to introduce and use the Catalogue. Like all these systems it is critical that sub-Branch data is kept up to date.

If you and your fellow members are using the app, ANZAC House welcomes any suggestions to improve its functionality as we progress this initiative from a pilot stage to production later this year.

More information about the app, including a QR code to download the app, can be found in the December issue of the Reveille. If you have any questions regarding the Veterans’ Catalogue please contact support@rslnsw.org.au.
