Circular 40/23 2023 Election of President and Elected Directors
The RSL NSW Board has appointed Link Market Services as the independent Returning Officer to officiate and conduct the 2023 Election of President and Elected Directors. Link Market Services is one of Australia’s leading voting and meeting service providers, conducting over 700 meetings and ballots annually to many of Australia’s largest organisations, associations, and business councils.
All RSL NSW Service members who are marked as ‘Active’ (formerly ‘Financial’) in the sub-Branch Portal are eligible to nominate for President and/or an Elected Director position and to vote.
In accordance with Standard Operating Procedure 12 (SOP 12) please note the following key election dates:
- 18 July – Member register closes Midday
- 25 July – Nominations for Directors and President open to RSL NSW Active Service members
- 21 August – Nominations for Directors and President closes
- 12 September – Voting opens to RSL NSW Active Service members (6 weeks before AGM)
- 9 October – Voting closes
- 24 October – Results announced at the RSL NSW Congress
All information in relation to the election will be housed on a dedicated site accessible by all members and in the September issue of the Reveille.
All RSL NSW sub-Branches and Service members (who are ‘Active’ and have a valid email address in their profile) will be notified by Link Market Services regarding the election including the nomination eligibility criteria and process and how to vote either online or by post.
Any Service member who wishes to nominate for the position of President or Elected Director will be required to obtain a National Police Check from the NSW Police Force and be nominated by ten other RSL NSW Service members.
Action for sub-Branch Office Bearers
Please ensure that all service members who wish to remain members of RSL NSW are marked ‘Active’ in the sub-Branch Portal and that their postal and email addresses are correct on or before Midday on
18 July 2023. Any amendment to members’ contact details after this date may result in the member not being included in the election.
