Circular 18/24 Second World War Commemorative Medallions

The Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) has made available to RSL Australia a number of Second World War Commemorative Medallions, produced to mark the significance of the 75th anniversary of the end of WWII.

Each RSL NSW sub-Branch has been allocated five Second World War Commemorative Medallions, which have been mailed directly from DVA to your sub-Branch postal address. There is no charge for these medallions.

Guidance on the distribution of Second World War Commemorative Medallions:

At the request of DVA, sub-Branches are to reserve one medallion to be placed on display. The remaining four medallions may be distributed at the discretion of your sub-Branch – there is no requirement for sub-Branches to contact DVA regarding eligibility.

The preference is for Commemorative Medallions to go to living veterans of WWII, where possible, or offered to widows or descendants. However, this is only guidance – all sub-Branches are welcome to allocate their medallions as they see fit.

If you wish to apply for additional Second World War Commemorative Medallions, please email commemorations@dva.gov.au or call 1800 VETERAN (1800 838 372). Any other questions can be directed to your RSL NSW Member Support Team via support@rslnsw.org.au or 1300 679 775.
