Circular 11/24 RSL and Schools Remember ANZAC Commemoration and Art Exhibition

RSL NSW is engaging with NSW primary and high schools for the upcoming RSL and Schools Remember ANZAC Commemoration and Art Exhibition.

RSL and Schools Remember ANZAC Commemoration

The RSL and Schools Remember ANZAC Commemoration will be held at 11am on Thursday 4 April 2024 at the Anzac Memorial Hyde Park.

The various school sectors will extend an invitation to all NSW schools to attend. Sub-Branches may wish to extend a personalised invitation to local schools in their community.

All RSL NSW members are invited to attend the RSL and Schools Remember ANZAC Commemoration. The service is presented by school students and is a way for RSL NSW to ensure young Australians are aware of the League’s commemorative traditions.

RSL and Schools Remember ANZAC Art Exhibition

This exhibition is a showcase of the 2024 finalists’ artwork submitted to the RSL and Schools Remember ANZAC Art Competition, with entries from students in years 4 to 10 across NSW. The artwork will be displayed at the Anzac Memorial Hyde Park from 4 to 30 April 2024.

The competition aims to educate and encourage younger Australians to learn about Australia’s military history, whilst paying respect to the service and sacrifice of servicemen and servicewomen.

Entries for the 2025 RSL and Schools Remember ANZAC Art Competition will open in May, with NSW school students invited to enter by submitting a maximum of two artworks per school for judging by a panel of representatives from the NSW Education Standards Authority, Art Gallery of NSW, RSL NSW, and the Anzac Memorial Veteran Artist in Residence. More information will be shared on the RSL NSW website in May.
