Gerringong RSL Sub-Branch is to hold its inaugural Middle East Area of Operations Commemoration this year. The date, which has been decided by RSL State Branches working with the Young Veterans Committee, will be Thursday 11th July. This commemoration marks the date that the Australian Government confirmed all ADF personnel had departed Afghanistan, bringing the nation’s longest military engagement to an end. Gerringong RSL sub-Branch will be holding a ceremony on the 11th July at 4:30 pm at the Memorial Headland where we hold our Anzac Dat Dawn Service. The service is to honour all those men and women who served in that conflict and those who did not return. The service will be followed by a social gathering at the Soldiers Memorial Hall with light refreshments and finger food supplied by the Sub-Branch. All service personnel and members of the community are welcome.
