City of Wollongong RSL sub-Branch | Darts Team – Diggers Sports Club

The City of Wollongong RSL sub-Branch is pleased to announce the formation of our new Diggers Sports Club, continuing a proud tradition that dates back to 1919, when it was originally established for returning WWI soldiers with teams entered in local football, soccer and cricket competitions.

Our first competitive team will be a Darts team, participating in the Tuesday night Illawarra District Darts Association competition, starting in late January 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity to connect with fellow members, enjoy some friendly competition, and represent our sub-Branch with pride. Darts was also hugely popular among returned WWII servicemen in the 1950s and ’60s, and we’re thrilled to bring this tradition back to life.

We also welcome supporters to cheer us on, and we’ll have supporter gear available to proudly showcase our team spirit.
