Veterans’ Policy and Advocacy Update – July 2024

RSL NSW continues to work with all levels of Government, the RSL nationally, and other ESOs to advocate strongly for veterans and their families. 

Your latest RSL NSW Policy & Advocacy Update includes: 

  • $2 million in the NSW Budget 2024-2025 to build a new MEAO memorial 
  • The Royal Commission into Defence and Veteran Suicide’s ‘Shining a Light’ lived-experience book 
  • Further consultation on the draft Veterans’ Entitlements legislation  
  • Progress in the development of an ex-service organisation peak body 
  • Updates from the most recent RSL NSW Veteran Services and Policy Committee meeting
  • Continued progress on the 2023 Register of Motions
