With more than 600 commemorative events scheduled to occur in communities across the state today, getting involved in ANZAC Day is an opportunity to show support for the wider veteran community.
RSL NSW is calling on Australians to pledge their support for their veteran friends and family members, and to check on a mate this ANZAC Day.
Transitioning out of Defence is a real challenge for many veterans, no matter how rewarding a career they have had. This ANZAC Day and at all times, RSL NSW encourages everyone to reach out to the veterans in their lives and help connect them with the support and services on offer via their local RSL sub-Branch.
As part of this year’s commemorations, RSL NSW members, veterans, current serving personnel, their families and the general public gathered for the annual ANZAC Day Dawn Service at the Martin Place Cenotaph in Sydney. Later, thousands gathered for and participated in the Sydney CBD March down Elizabeth Street towards Hyde Park.
An ANZAC Day Commemoration Service was also held at the Anzac Memorial in Hyde Park, followed later in the afternoon by a Sunset Service Ceremony.
