Two free self-paced programs, RSL Be:Well and Go Beyond, are now available via the new Online Learning section of the RSL NSW website.

At a glance:

  • RSL NSW is making two free online learning courses, RSL Be:Well and Go Beyond, available to be accessed anywhere, at any time.
  • RSL Be:Well is designed to support proactive health and wellbeing, addressing physical, mental and emotional health, as well as social wellbeing.
  • Go Beyond focuses on key areas of transition, providing actionable guidance that helps veterans to help readjust to civilian life.

It can be difficult to find health and wellbeing resources that understand the unique challenges that veterans face. That’s why RSL NSW is making two free online learning courses, RSL Be:Well and Go Beyond, available to be accessed anywhere, at any time.

Made for veterans and backed by research, these self-paced programs were developed by RSL Queensland in partnership with Gallipoli Medical Research, to provide veterans with practical information and tools to use during and after their time in Defence.

RSL Be:Well

An online program designed for veterans to support proactive health and wellbeing, RSL Be:Well addresses physical, mental and emotional health, as well as social wellbeing.

The program is specifically tailored to meet the needs of veterans and their families and provides tools and resources to better understand and combat common health challenges such as sleep, pain, finding meaningful employment after Defence, and navigating negative emotions.

Participants learn from a range of resources including videos, articles, case studies and interactive tools, with new content released every three months.

“This is very real and relevant. This has made me reflect on my past a lot and realise how far I have come… I see that emotional intelligence can be taught.”

Go Beyond

Transitioning out of Defence? Go Beyond focuses on key areas of transition, providing actionable guidance that helps veterans to help readjust to civilian life. The online program is free and available online for all former-serving Australian Defence Force (ADF) personnel.

Participants complete a short, confidential survey to assess where they may benefit from support in a healthy transition to civilian life. Go Beyond then creates a self-paced program of practical activities and tools tailored to the veterans’ needs.

“Being able to go through some training and pointers on how to redirect my thinking has been super helpful … it has really helped me to have conversations with my wife and other people about how to move forward in new ways.”
