4 weeks to go until the City2Surf!

With less than a month to go until the City2Surf, here’s everything you need to know to get ready for race day on Sunday 11 August. In this email, you’ll find:

The race-day timeline has been updated:

Start wave times have now been confirmed by City2Surf and the race-day timings have been updated on the RSL NSW website. All RSL NSW participants are invited to join the team for a pre-race breakfast function at ANZAC House, before walking to the start line at Macquarie Street, via The Cenotaph in Martin Place for a group photo. The pre-race function is a great opportunity to grab breakfast, collect your bib, and participate in a fun group warm-up with your new teammates.

  • If you are running in the pink wave, please arrive at the pre-race function between 6:30am-7:25am, to prepare for a 7:56am start
  • If you are running/walking in the orange wave, please arrive at the pre-race function between 8am-8:55am, to prepare for a 9:34am start
  • If you are running in the green wave or an elite wave, please check the City2Surf website for start times and plan accordingly

Free public transport to get to and from the City2Surf:

Free travel on public transport is included with your race registration. Please ensure you have a copy of your City2Surf registration confirmation to show transport staff when boarding train, metro, bus, light rail, or ferry services.

The pre-race function at ANZAC House (Mezzanine Level, 175 Pitt Street, Sydney) and The Cenotaph in Martin Place are a short walk from Town Hall, Wynyard or Martin Place stations.

After you cross the finish line at Bondi Beach, head directly to Hotel Bondi (located at 178 Campbell Parade, Bondi Beach) to recharge with complimentary food and drinks. All RSL NSW City2Surf team members will have access to an exclusive team area and balcony, as well as stretching and decompression spaces.

To help you get home, City2Surf shuttle buses will run to Bondi Junction, where you can connect with frequent trains or buses to continue your journey. View the race finish map below, and for more information on transport and accessibility, please visit the City2Surf website.

Don’t forget to complete your waiver!

There are two waivers that must be completed before you can participate in the City2Surf. The first waiver was completed during your race registration with City2Surf.  Please take two minutes to complete the RSL NSW team waiver prior to race day.

Please note: A waiver must be completed for each person registered in the RSL NSW City2Surf team, including children.

Do you need someone else to collect your bib? 

Bibs can be collected on race day at the pre-race function at ANZAC House, or during the week prior. If you arrange for someone to collect your bib on your behalf, please ensure the person collecting your bib has your full name (as it appears on your registration) and your mobile phone number.

There are two options for bib collection:

  • Collect from ANZAC House (Level 11, 175 Pitt Street Sydney) from Monday 5 August to Thursday 8 August 8:30am to 5pm and Friday 9 August 8:30am to Midday
  • Collect on race day at the pre-race breakfast function at ANZAC House

RSL NSW takes no responsibility for lost race bibs once collected from ANZAC House.
