1 week to go until the City2Surf!

The world’s largest fun run is now just one week away, and we’re excited to have you join the RSL NSW veteran and family team as we run/walk/wheel from Sydney to Bondi Beach on 11 August. To make sure you are race-day ready, please take five minutes to read this email, which includes info on:

  • Bib collection
  • Bag drop
  • Transport and road closures
  • Wellbeing tips
  • Pre-race function and post-race celebration

In the lead-up to next Sunday, take note of these important race-day reminders:

Bib collection: All RSL NSW team bibs must be collected from ANZAC House. If you cannot pick-up your bib from the pre-race function, you can collect it from ANZAC House (Level 11, 175 Pitt Street Sydney) on Monday 5 August – Thursday 8 August (8:30am to 5pm) or Friday 9 August (8:30am to Midday). If you arrange for someone to collect your bib on your behalf, please ensure the person collecting your bib has your full name (as it appears on your registration) and your mobile phone number.

Bag drop: Please use the baggage service offered by City2Surf. Bags can be dropped at the event expo in Moore Park from Thursday 8 August – Saturday 10 August and will be available for pick-up from the Event Village at Bondi Beach. Visit the City2Surf website for more information about drop-off times and locations. Alternatively, you can donate your discarded clothes on race day at the City2Surf starting line. If you are travelling from a community outside Sydney and you require bag-drop facilities, please reach out to events@rslnsw.org.au for assistance.

Transport: Free travel on public transport is included with your race registration. Please ensure you have a copy of your City2Surf registration confirmation to show transport staff when boarding train, metro, bus, light rail, or ferry services. After the race, City2Surf shuttle buses will run to Bondi Junction, where you can connect with trains or buses to continue your journey home.

Road closures: If you are planning to drive or be picked up from Bondi Beach, please plan ahead and review the road closures and clearways for the day. For more information, please visit the City2Surf website.

Pre-race self-care: Are you getting all the hydration, energy and rest your body needs in the lead-up to race day? The City2Surf page on the RSL NSW website has a bunch of health and wellbeing tips to help you get set for a great day on 11 August.

  • Pre-race function: Kicking off at 6.30am, the pre-race breakfast function at ANZAC House (Mezzanine Level, 175 Pitt Street, Sydney) is a great opportunity to collect your bib and T-shirt, grab a bite to eat, and participate in a fun group warm-up, before walking with your RSL NSW teammates to the start line.
  • Post-race celebration: After you cross the finish line at Bondi Beach, take a victory lap to Hotel Bondi (located at 178 Campbell Parade, Bondi Beach) where you’re invited to join us from 9.30am to enjoy complimentary food and drinks in our exclusive team area, or take advantage of the dedicated stretching and decompression spaces.
