A gathering at Sunset to remember MIDDLE EAST AREA of OPERATIONS 2001 – 2024. Those that died & those that survive. The Oberon RSL Sub-branch is planning a Sunset service at 5pm on the 11th of July 2024. The Middle East Area of Operations (MEAO) commemoration will take place on July 11 this year to recognize the day troops were withdrawn from Afghanistan in 2021. The commemorative day aims to honour the Australian Defence Forces (ADF) personal who served in Iraq and Afghanistan as well as those that served in support and at home during that period. If you served in Iraq or Afghanistan, you had mates who served, lost mates who served, are family of ADF personal who served we would like to hear from you and see you at the service. This will be the community's opportunity to reflect and remember those who served their country in this conflict. There will be some light refreshment at the RSL Club on completion.
