City of Wollongong RSL sub-Branch | Super Sport & Recreation Weekend

June 1 - June 2

Join City of Wollongong RSL sub-Branch’s inaugural Super Sport & Recreation weekend on Saturday, June 1st, and Super Sunday, June 2nd. It’s going to be an extravaganza of fun-filled activities for all!

Saturday, June 1st:

  • Kick off the weekend with a meet & greet at Figtree Sports Club starting at midday! Experience the thrill of NRL Lawn Bowls, a hybrid game combining bowls and basic NRL rules – perfect for all skill levels! Plus, enjoy refreshments and finger food as you bond with family and friends.

Super Sunday, June 2nd:

Dive into a day of adventure with our Fishing Charter, Social Golf Tournament, Coastal Cycle ride, and Coastal Walk!

  • Fishing Charter: We have 10 spots available on our charter boat “Aquilla,” departing from Wollongong Harbour at 6:30 am for a morning of fishing in the Pacific Ocean. The charter returns at around 1:30 pm, followed by a presentation and refreshments at Wollongong Golf Club.
  • Social Golf Tournament: Tee-off starts at 10:30 am, with the last group expected to finish around 3:00 pm for a presentation and refreshments at the Nineteenth Hole.
  • Coastal Cycle Ride: Starting at midday at Wollongong Golf Club, enjoy a leisurely ride along the stunning coastal bike track, with coffee stops along the way. Return to Wollongong Golf Club around 2:30 pm for the presentation and refreshments.
  • Coastal Walk: Begin at 1:00 pm at Wollongong Golf Club, and stroll along the spectacular beachfront, taking in the sights up to the lighthouse and Belmore Basin, with a coffee stop before returning for the presentation at 2:30 pm.
  • Prizes and Awards: Wrap up the weekend with a presentation ceremony at the Nineteenth Hole at Wollongong Golf Club, with the winners in each category receiving some fabulous prizes!

This SUPER WEEKEND is open to ALL Illawarra RSL sub-Branch members and their families, as well as members of our partner charity, Raising the Bar Foundation in Wollongong.
