Circular 33/24 2024 State Congress and AGM

The 2024 Annual General Meeting and State Congress will take place from Sunday 27 October to Tuesday 29 October 2024 at the Newcastle Exhibition and Convention Centre (NEX). These details were noted in the Board Communiqué for 5 March 2024.

This year’s Congress will take a members-first approach, shining a light on the achievements of RSL sub-Branches across the State, and focusing on initiatives implemented by the organisation to support all members, veterans and their families. There will be additional time included in the program for questions from delegates and open discussion.

Action for sub-Branch Office Bearers 

Motions due: 20 August 2024

In accordance with the RSL NSW Constitution (Appendix C, Clause 2), sub-Branches are required to propose motions for the AGM by 20 August 2024 (10 weeks prior to the AGM).

  • Notice of meeting issued: 2 October 2024
  • Congress registrations open online: 5 August 2024
  • Proxy nominations due to ANZAC House: 22 October 2024

Delegate eligibility: 

To ensure your sub-Branch is eligible to register a delegate to attend Congress, please review clauses 15.39-15.41, 15.48-15.52, and Appendix C of the RSL NSW Constitution, which can be found in the Member Portal. Any sub-Branch that has not completed mandatory reporting will not be eligible to register a delegate to attend Congress.

Financial assistance: 

If your sub-Branch requires financial assistance for a delegate to attend, please submit your application to the sub-Branch Support & Assistance Fund by completing this form.
