Circular 30/23 RSL LifeCare invites you to a series of online information sessions

RSL LifeCare Veteran Services is hosting a series of virtual information sessions for veterans and their families to learn about the services and support they can access from our partner charity.

Sub-Branch Office Bearers, Welfare Officers, and all members who are dedicated to connecting veterans in their community with the support they need are encouraged to register to attend the sessions.

Session 1 

Representatives from the RSL LifeCare Veteran Services Team will provide an interactive overview of the services and support veterans and their families can access free of charge. This is a great opportunity to ask the LifeCare team any questions you have.

Topics covered:

  • Claims and advocacy
  • Wellbeing services
  • Veteran housing and homelessness program
  • Veteran & Family Wellbeing Centres
  • SPUR Equine Program.

Session 2: 

Representatives from NSW Government agencies will present the range of services and support offered to veterans and their families.

Topics covered:

  • How can OVA assist veterans? – NSW Office of Veterans Affairs
  • What rebates and vouchers are available to help veterans save on everyday costs?  – Service NSW
  • The importance of planning ahead including Wills, Power of Attorney and Enduring Guardian NSW Trustees and Guardian.

Session 3: 

This session will be part one of a ‘Digital Thumbprint’ workshop regarding identity protection and digital defense skills.

Topics covered:

  • What is personal information and why do cyber criminals want it?
  • How to identify different types of cybercrimes
  • Ways to improve your digital defense skills by using strong passphrases, passwords and multi-factor authentication
  • Accessing further assistance.

Session 4: 

This session is part two of the ‘Digital Thumbprint’ workshop and will provide information on scams and cyber criminals and protecting your identity.

  • Combating scams
  • Accessing further assistance.
